What

Measures to assist with informing customers when DNSSEC is turned on for a connected domain:

  • Some for of pre-check when the domain is connected (to check for DNSSEC)
  • Messaging in the DNS screen to notify user

Why

When customers connect a domain that has DNSSEC enabled (at the registrar) it will show as connected, but it will not be possible to issue an SSL certificate. This usually requires HE intervention to guide the user in removing DNSSEC at the registrar.

How

  • Can we run a pre-check on the existing DNS settings when connecting a domain - and then notify user (and provide next steps) if DNSSEC is active?

  • Can we have a notice (and guidance) in the domain/dns settings page?
