What's the motivation behind Fruitfatty:

At least one third of the time I am not using my computer, I believe
this holds true for most people who own computers. This means we are
holding on resources but not utilizing them. Wouldn't it be great if
I can sell my unused computing resources to someone who need it and
I can earn some money? And the answer is definitely YES!
Imagine, it's in the middle of the night, Peter is still working on
his research work, he wrote a program to process the huge amount of
data he gathered, the program will take 10 hours to complete on
his computer with 2 CPUs.
At the same time, most of his neighbors are already went sleep
left their laptops/computes idle.
So, what if Peter can pay small a mount of money to get extra
computing power which will reduce the run time of his program to 1 hour,
and his neighbors can earn money while they are still in sleep! Wow, YAY!
To help both sides win, here comes FruitFatty. Our motivation of building
Fruitfatty is to redistribute computing power, enable easy and cheap access
to massive computing resources, better utilize idle computing resources,
and also gives incentive to people who share their unused computing resources.

How Fruitfatty works:

You can list your computer for sell:

when you have a computer that is currently idle, you can register is on
Fruitfatty, based on the hardware configuration of your computer, Fruitfatty
will give you a listing price for your computing resources.
You can set a expiring time for the listing, or cancel the list anytime
as long as it's not sold and running job. You will get paid based on the amount
of time your computer has been used through Fruitfatty.

You can buy computing power:

when you need extra CPU power to run your program/process, submit your program
to Fruitfatty, and buy for as many computing power as you want
(off course it also depends availability), pay only when your program is completed.
Your cost will based on the number of CPUs you requested and the amount of time you
have used them. It could be as low as a penny per CPU per hour.

Technically, how does Fruitfatty work:

When we go to real technical aspect, Fruitfatty is not only an ebay for
computing power, it enables pure parallel computing which makes the
redistribution of computing power possible. It is a platform serves programs
that require massive computing power by parallel distribute the work to idle CPUs.
