Feature: Make Game title on backgrounds available to hide #2
Comments
Also (just my opinion) the compression for the backgrounds is maybe too much now. It is great to have reduced size, but now some compression artifacts are visible https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/6jx3cvxc6dlvw48/background.png. I think for raspberry pi and other micro computer it is very important to have light images, for other people using batocera in a PC the image size is not a problem because the video memory is not an issue in a modern computer. |
Hi thanks for your feedbakc :) I've add the name of the games on the images, really i will not take the time to remove them an other time. I think it's really important and we don't see them a lot, i make affect to hide them the more i can. If i make an option with real text for this feature, i will can't hide them fine ... some are writes in white or black ... so complicated by option. For the Saturn screen you show me the problem, the artifact is on my original image and i forgot to clean this one by hand ... i will do it. Not a compression problem. It's a lossless compression. |
I've repair some backgrounds where we can see some artifacts : 3DS, Megadrive, Saturn, SNES ;) |
That's great, thank you! |
One more background with title in French: Last Played (Back to the Future) |
@diegopau updated ;) |
Hi,
This is a minor thing, but I preferred the backgrounds as they were before, without the title at the top, especially now that we have the art gallery option. Also some game titles change with each language.
In the future it would be nice to be able to choose if to show or to remove this

The titles are part of the background image so I think this is not easy or quick to do.
