When composing an email template in the web UI, the user is prompted with markdown instructions on how to do some basic formatting. One tip is to use a line starting with a ^ symbol to inset text. Using a ^ symbol in an email template does not inset text, sends the literal ^ symbol.
Opening this in the Admin repo as this is where the email template instructions reside. One option would be to remove the text about the caret being used for inset text. The other option would be to fix the markdown support, which I'd guess resides on the api side.
