How can I communicate from Bare-metal gem5 to omnet++

Hi. thank you for this usefull framework.
I need to simulate a TDMA radio node with 2 bare-metal gem5 node (firmware) and some logics in omnet++.
I'm trying to test a simple example of communication but found out cossim is using socket for connecting gem5 nodes and omnet++, then it's not suitable for bare-metal programming.
could you please help me how can I send and receive messages from gem5 node and omnet++?
