Device info

  • OS: AOSP
  • OS version: 12
  • Device: Samsung Galaxy A51
  • Lemmur version: 0.9.0

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install browser in main profile whereas lemmur on separate work profile
  2. Find a post with a URL
  3. Click on URL

Expected behavior

Getting redirected to my hardened browser in the main profile. Many apps execute this action, including Jerboa (other lemmy client)

Actual Behavior

The link opens inside lemmur in some sort of a pwa.

Recently upgraded to 0.9.0, and seeing this as well, however I do not use multiple profiles. Clicking a link now opens it in the app, which is not practical when you try to open some links in the background while browsing.

If this is intended, an option to select the behaviour would be nice!

Neither Lemmur or Jerboa shows this behavior on my phone (Samsung A5 2017, Android 8), URLs of Lemmy instances only open in browser.
Which URLs does this happen with? lemmy.ml or also other ones?

@EdoSecco All of them. Before updating, when clicking on a youtube link, it asked me if I wanted to use newpipe, and this is gone as well. Android 11 here

I also experience exactly the same issue and I have to admit it is extremely annoying. It was not like this before the update.

Pixel 6, Android 13, v0.9.0.
