In version 2024.09.1 on RHEL8, the text editor defined in Edit/Preferences/Scripting is not starting up when doing "Edit".

Some text editors are working: gedit, nedit, emacs.
Text editors not working: kwrite, kate
In Qt6 development version all text editors are working OK. No further investigation needed.
