Grabbing a speed signal

For my application, I need a speed signal, i.e., I'd like to grab the Wheel Based Speed and Distance message (PGN 65096).
I used the seeder example as a guide, so I did this:

// call initialize later (after initialization of the TC client) and add a listener/handler (handle_wheel_based_speed):
speedMessages.initialize();
	
wheelBasedSpeedEventHandle = speedMessages.get_wheel_based_machine_speed_data_event_publisher().add_listener(
		[this](const std::shared_ptr<isobus::SpeedMessagesInterface::WheelBasedMachineSpeedData> wbsData, bool changed) {
			this->handle_wheel_based_speed(wbsData, changed);
		});

// not sure, if update() is necessary
speedMessages.update();

Unfortunately, the handler is never called. What's wrong with it? Am I missing something?

The most likely answer I have is that wheelBasedSpeedEventHandle may be going out of scope? If the handle goes out of scope, your callback will be automatically invalidated.
