Betteruntis as digital signage

Problem Statement

I want to use betteruntis on an old android phone on my desk as some kind of digital signage.

Just to have a quick overview on a glance:

• What are my next subjects?
• Any new changes?

Betteruntis does this actually right now, but my timetable does no get refreshed automatically. I have make a refresh-gesture with my finger to move the timeline and to fetch new changes.
Btw: Betterunits shows "Zuletzt aktualisiert: gerade eben" (last updated: just now), but the displayed information may be days old. This is not consistent.

I switched off battery optimization for betterunits, pinned the app and enabled "keep phone awake" in the development settings. So assume, the app is running constantly.

Solution Ideas

Implement some kind of timer: If the app is awake, refresh the timeline every x minutes and pull server for new changes.
