Hello again Sn8z!

I'm writing you to inform you a bug that I encountered in Poddr:

To reproduce

  1. Start playing a podcast episode
  2. Hit the pause button to grab yourself a coffee :)
  3. Hit the play button to continue enjoying the rest of the episode
  4. After some 5 or 10 seconds (probably when the buffered audio is played) the podcast stops playing. Then you have to restart the episode and scroll the time bar to the moment the podcast stopped playing.

Expected behavior
The podcast would continue playing until it ends even you give pauses in the meantime.

Well, this is embarrassing. This problem was there and I have been thinking to post as a bug for a long time. I think the problem is not there anymore because I just tried to reproduce the problem after posting, and I should have done before. Sorry to bother you, and may be it's better to just delete this post.

Hi @JackNavarra!
No worries at all! 💃

I've actually had this happen to myself aswell but haven't been able to reproduce it everytime.
I suspect there might be some garbage collection happening but I'm not sure exactly why and when it happens yet.
I will leave the issue open if anybody else has similiar issues 👍

It's always ok to ask for help, nothing is embarrassing 😄

Hi again @JackNavarra & @ShashenMudaly!
I've just released a new version of Poddr(2.0.0) but unfortunately I haven't been able to fully solve this issue just yet but I've done some digging 🕺

I've realized that this issue occurs when pausing podcasts hosted on Soundcloud, after pausing an episode and then trying to resume it the Soundcloud server throws a 403 Forbidden error... If you could try it out and see if this is the case for you aswell it would be awesome! Otherwise I would love to hear what podcasts (and episodes) you listen to that causes this behaviour aswell.

Hi Sn8z!
I liked the improvements on the GUI in the new version, good job! I think I can confirm that the issue occurs if a podcast is hosted on Soundcloud.
