When incoming source records dedupe against themselves, they simply remove duplicates from themselves. It would be better conceivably to find a way to somehow attribute the deduplication to the entry that was taken in favor of the removed one. As we only do record-based attribution right now, it isn't possible, but for comprehensive logging, tracking this deduplication would be good.
