Hello,

As no code was modified for almost a year, out of curiosity I wonder what is the status of this project: are new development planned, is it on hold or terminated ?
Are you searching for contributors ?

Greetings

Hello @lapineige . I've had nearly no time with uni and a little health issue. My idea with this project is to keep working on it until something decent comes out.

The decision I've taken is to move the project to rust because there was a big movement of developers writting AP implementations in Rust. When I was writting my own implementation in Python i found that everyone was doing thing differently and this burned me (silly errors that take days and is just that implementations do different things)

Also I found issues with python in the async part of the project.

Currently there is a ragnarok branch that is where I was doing the change.

Also there are design decisions that I want to change.

If you want to collaborate and help me out with the project just tell me :)

Thanks for your feedback, and I hope things will get better for you :)

On the development side, I know nothing about Rust (I'm more into Python ^^) nor ActivityPub so I won't be able to help.
But when the project will be ready for it I could provide help testing it, doing some documentation, maybe some design feedback and communication too (with the limited time I have 😅).

I would very much like to see a federated Instagram alternative (without all its malevolent design) emerge. I think it's a big missing piece in the fediverse for photographers and so on, and the only possibility we have now (Pixelfed) is far for satisfying 😕
So if I can help… 😉
