At present a number of the unit tests are actually regression tests. Perhaps the test framework is the best way to support regression tests but we should review best practices for regression tests and update the test infrastructure accordingly.

This is becoming more of an issue with recent releases due to seeding issues between python versions and sklearn versions etc. This should be discussed more later
