I have exchanged my 7950x3d for 7950x.
Usually play pubg on 4K, there is even no differences (within delta 5fps) between freq/cache and 7950x.
BTW, later when I was on 7950x3d, I enabled "L3 CACHE as NUMA" in bios AMD CBS section, tiny freezes in genshin were fixed, although enabling this option will make driver fail to sched ccd anymore. AMD's scheduling could make things worse.
3 runs on each set up, averages used. Cyberpunk built-in benchmark. Low settings preset@1080p - no upscaling used
Tested on a 7950X3D
Normal setup:
Xbox game bar: On
Game Mode: On
Power plan: Balanced
Average of 3 runs:
AVG FPS: 273.78
Min FPS: 157.99
Max FPS: 380.07
Number of Frames: 17,593
Vcache tray setup:
Xbox game bar: Off
Game Mode: Off
Power plan: High performance
Package C6: -
Core C1E: -
Core C6: -
No C-state Timers: ✓
CPB: ✓
vcache tray on prefer frequency
Cyberpunk.exe on prefer cache
Average of 3 runs:
AVG FPS: 244.98
Min FPS: 131.10
Max FPS: 310.91
Number of Frames: 15,742
Is this normal behavior? Am I using the vcache tray setup wrong? Why is it performing worse when it should be at least equal?
