I never heard about "sia", but I'm following carefully https://storj.io/, which looks really promising.

But not sure how difficult would it be to implement it.

It is very similar to Storj yes, would be nice if both could be supported :-) Sia just released version 1.0 though, which I assume means it's stable for production use.
