The USB C port on my HP Envy 13 does not appear to be powered / monitored on my laptop whilst using Ubuntu, do you face a similar issue?
To test this, I've been using the Kingston Data Traveler Duo Type C Flash Drive. On other devices using Ubuntu, the flash drive works as expected, with both the USB A and C ports being recognised.
However, on my laptop the drive is only detected whilst using the USB A ports. When plugging the flash drive into the USB C port, running dmesg shows no new messages and I cannot detect the drive anywhere.
I also own a USB-C to Ethernet adapter which also does not work in Ubuntu on my laptop. This has an LED which should light up when it is powered, but this is not the case. This peripheral also works on other devices using Ubuntu.
