Order Canceled, Account Suspended, and App Deleted

Hello everyone,

I am developing a sales management app using the Etsy API. However, after using the account that created the app to place an order, the order was canceled without any reason, my account was suspended, and the app was deleted as well.

Could it be that the app was deleted because the account was suspended? What should I do to restore it?

Etsy team often does this if you get an order from a real customer for one of your test listings. If the customer orders your test listing, and then never receives the product they'll complain to support, who will suspend your account. Suspending your shop account also deactivates any apps in your account. They suspended our app with several hundred paying customers and it took over a month to get reinstated. Luckily we had a backup app ready to go after a few hours.

My recommendation is to create a new account / new app if you don't have a lot of customers yet. But make a separate account to host your test listings, so if they suspend that account it won't affect your app. Also make sure to write the word TEST (all caps works best) in the item name and description. If it looks at all like a real product, and has a low price as they recommend, someone will buy it and get mad.

However, the account I created contains my company’s information as well as the company’s bank details. I need to recover it. I have emailed the developer support team, but I have not received any response.
