After Android 15 Update it is Running in the background all the time and all night. when i wake up the last video i've watched plays randomly after Android 15 update/ Nothing OS 3.0

What happened?

Nothing OS 3.0 update/ android 15.

I even use SaveTunner and Hail to "auto freeze/ suspend apps on screen off" with Shizuku. During the night.

Removed today background battery usage and i have as always and before "switch audio to the background "disabled" and background behavior " none".

Nothing has very stable OS updates, the transition was without an hik up or a single bug. Only the jay is always doing something on the background even with a very agrressive battery saving with SaveTunner.

90% of my apps are openSource, unless i have really no alternative and all google play / GPS Whatever/ spyware/ bloatware disabled.

PS: my "VPN" is "Invizible Pro" but ive disabled it completly for grayjay.

just.. after a while of waking up some video plays. i've checked and it was sending random notification that go way in a blink (had to check notification history)

well, this is kinda messed up. i'll probably have to uninstall the app since there are no solution in sight and look for an alternative.

either i remember to stop it manually (probably that works) or it drains me 10% of battery around every 6-8 hours.

PS: after switching and having to export and subscribe manually one by one (as far as i see the files are incompatible with newPipe). I realise many content creators were not showing on my subscribers list. probably only the peertube futo plugin was working? I remembered to chech some option to show mature channel or whatever, at least i've been showned "The actMan" and it is not exactly kiddy friendly.

Maybe the database on peertube is not enough, or now the youtube plugin requires a login?

I don't know anymore. Hope the project does not die. Loved the app but i prefer stability over features. Anyways, i've paid for it and i wish everyone did the same because money don't grow on trees.

Android 15 running on Google pixel 8A. I'm about as standard of a user as you can get with no fancy frills or custom firmware, OS's, or whatever. I've got the stock, "suck my data, daddy", Android install.

I had more crap runing through the night than you. For me it is a major issue and cannot use the app like this :/

My google play services are on deep sleep. your main battery hog must be that, dispite grayjay always runing on background.

No mather how much i try battery always goes down during the night, damned bloatware. might not the problem with the jay. nonetheless it is anoying waking up and some video playing on the background when i wake up:

As for GrayJay, I noticed a significant increase of battery usage recently. I need to manually quit the app before going to bed or I'll wake up with a heavily drained battery. It's been like this for a few weeks. It might have coincided around the time that I enabled the 80% charge limit. Don't know if that's a causation, but interesting timing since that came along with Android 15.

Edit: I also noticed the futo keyboard taking battery over the night.

Edit: disabled physical sensors on the widgets, uninstalled the stupid chicken game with about 12 trackers according to exodus, and no background acess for futo keyboard. let's see

wait, what? a bit off track, but futo keyboard doesn't have a damned export settings option yet? looked everywhere.

going to backup with swift and update to the beta version hoping it does not turn sideways.

It is always a pain to configure the keyboard just the way i like it

letting you know that "tubular", a fork of newpipe has the same issue. i might try the regular newpipe, might be an issue with the skip ads thingy or the dislike counter.

(sorry fellow youtubers, i am tired of the scammy nord vpn advertisements, or squarespace , if something different i always go back)

edit: disabled notifications and the cached process went from 820 mb to around 120. (i dont listen to anything on background) and disabled "allow background use" on that app.

after like a minute with screen off it goes into cache. I use the SaverTuner App.

*might it be velis auto-brightness from the playstore?

i also have always running InviziblePro, but the app is set to skip youtube opensorce apps on its entirety

I might have a lead here. After a video has been viewed, the app remains in the background.

User behavior: I fall asleep listening to something playing in grayjay. After I fall asleep and the video comes to an end. the app stays active in the background. This drains the battery?

Decided to reinstall. I always watch some youtube before sleep and tonight i remembered just locking up the screen.

When i woke up to smoke and unlocked it, the same video started playing.

It say about 57% battery usage per 2 hours but i find it non accurate anyways, but the app probably does not shutdown into cache.

i dont have anything marked up to play on the background.

by those screenshots it affects mostly pixel and Nothing OS users on the latest android version?
