Unable to connecto to the Github API, please check your internet connection.

Github copilot is able to connect without issue. I'm fairly certain Github Pull Requests also works fine.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install extension (on Mac?)
  2. Try and use extension

Expected behavior
The extension should be able to access Github API

Same problem here on macos. Just popped up in the past like week or so. Noticed that all my workflows were showing an error on resolving the actions packages. Geting that same error op mentioned

I mean, I do too, but clicking that button should open a browser, I think, where you can authorise the extension, no?

Instead, nothing. 😂

Me too, but there is no solution in the official documentation. I confirmed that my network connection with github is strong enough, but there is still no way to enable this action plugin. This has caused me to be on github and vscode for the past week. Switching back and forth in the middle affects the use. After I click the "Refresh" button, there is no reaction, and I won't even open the browser to seek a connection.

Me too :( Clicking the refresh button doesn't do anything.

I resolve this issue by steps below :

  1. Sign out from github by right click account menu in vscode (left bottom in sidebar)
  2. Reauthenticate github by clicking button in github actions extension

For me it's a different reason. This extension has no proxy server support. It should automatically detect http_proxy and HTTP_PROXY and their secure counter parts. Using Windows 11 btw not MAC.
