Hi,
Recently, I plan to run 100 genomes multiple alignment by cactus. I plan to use the machine 512G mem, 128 cores. Do you think this machine is ok for this alignment? how many CPU hours it will cost for 100 genomes(1.5G averagely per genome).
I know, there's no Reference genome for cactus, but I'm thinking split 'one Ref' into chr, Do you think this will help decrease CPU hours or memory use?
