The Data Science for Biologists course provides a practical, hands-on approach to analyzing large-scale biological datasets using Python. It addresses the growing demand for data science skills in biology, driven by advances in high-throughput technologies and the availability of omics data. The course takes a step-by-step approach, beginning with Python programming basics and progressing through data preprocessing, visualization, and machine learning, all framed within real-world biological applications.
By the end of this course, participants will:
- Understand the role of data science in modern biological research.
- Develop computational skills in managing biological datasets.
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to biological data analysis.
- Gain hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools and techniques for analyzing omics data.
- Learn how to visualize and communicate biological data insights.
