If it's easy to render the component to a string, and handle the downloading outside, then, I think, it's better to keep it outside the package. Consider creating a new independent package that would allow to download/export any react component

I have found a solution that works perfectly with SVG and PNG. I implemented it using canvas.getContext('2d').
