Question about normalized values.

Its not really an issue, more like a question, because I'm not sure if I understand.

Could someone explain what is the difference between raw reading and normalized values?
What are the basis for normalizing it and how does it work?

raw are basically numbers and normalized values are values which go through filters and calculations or you can say, processed data.
