New phone, no way to import files from old phone

I've used Dove bible for years and have all the translations I need on my old phone, as the original Zip files and as the sqlite files.

The sales policy on the websites I purchased them from has changed to monthly subscription and I don't see any point in renting something I've owned for years. I have the files, it's just that the new Dove doesn't allow me to import them.

In previous versions of android I was able to simply dump these in the android directory and Dove would accept them. The latest version of Android doesn't allow me access to the Android directory. I could install an older version of Dove to get them in, but, really, the software should allow it.
