Would it be possible to reduce the precision of the coordinates listed in the GeoJSON files (e.g. json/eurostat/ew/nuts1.json) from 15 decimal places to, say, 6? Fifteen decimal places gives atomic-scale precision on the coordinates. Reducing to 6 decimal places would give a resolution of better than a metre and would probably reduce the file sizes by around 35-40%.
