At the moment, if I want to open a link, I have to do the following.
click on a book
press edit
scroll down to the notes (where I saved the link)
copy the link
close the app and open the browser
paste the link in the browser
press enter
A lot of steps to open a link.
Describe the solution you'd like
That's why I would like to have a field where you can paste a link. When you click on the link in the overview mode of a book (not in edit mode), the browser opens automatically with the corresponding website.
The function is useful when...
the ISBN is not sufficient: A book or audiobook is exclusive material and only available from a single provider (e.g. Audible Original), so a link would be much more accurate than an ISBN, as I would not be able to find the book with the ISBN in my favorite store.
a book or audiobook does not have an ISBN: I read and listen to a lot of books in the public domain that don't have an ISBN. If I want to add a book/audiobook to my For Later list, I would also like to link to the corresponding medium (audiobook from Librivox/facsimiles from Internet Archive/HathiTrust etc.) so that I can find it again and download it when I want to read it. As some of these files are very large (several GB), I only want to download the media when I need them, otherwise they will take up too much of my storage space.
