Run mintty with command interactive

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Invoke mintty with an interactive command
2. It runs and quits

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
For example, I am trying to view some logs with less in a new terminal window.

mintty -h always -e logfile.log | less

Without the -h always, it runs and exits. With it, I'm given just the buffer 
output of less, I'm not actually able to use hjkl navigation or search or 
interact with less whatsoever.

What versions of mintty, Cygwin/MSYS, and Windows are you using?
mintty 1.2-beta1 (x86_64-pc-cygwin)
cygwin            1.7.27-2
cygwindll version 1.7.27
