With the latest release, the addition of the side panel made me think of a terrific usage for it; let me know what you think:

Usually, I am typing and I write a word, but I need to find a synonym for it. So instead of rewriting that word in the search box, simply highlighting a word will input it in the search box, and the list of synonyms is generated (or antonyms, in case you want to expand this feature more by adding a radiobox).
When pressing on one of the items in the list, the word is directly inserted into wherever the cursor is or replaces whatever is highlighted.

Here is a scenario: I type "this is an awesome book."
I highlight the word awesome, I get a list, from which a few grab my attention, so I click on "amazing" and "awe-inspiring".
What I end up with is, "this is an amazing awe-inspiring book".

(I noticed the side bar panel icon is missing too)

While thinking about it, highlighting a word is done often without the need to look for synonyms.
To avoid having the plugin run every time the user highlights, there should be a button to insert the selected word into the search box.

I love these ideas! The side panel certainly needs a lot of love — I mainly created it just to get the initial svelte app running with some debounced datamuse usage. I need to wireframe it out a bit more and think about how it would integrate with the main markdown editor. Maybe a hotkey command could move the highlighted text to the search and from there the search could be tweaked a bit.
