BORIS playing black screen with audio

The videos that have been encoded/resized for BORIS have audio and play in time to the events, but there is a black screen. I'm not sure whether it is a loading issue, but I have stepped away from the computer for a few hours and it still seems to not work. The project is within the same project file as all the media. Sometimes the video comes up with a message at the bottom of the screen saying 'media length not available', but still plays with audio. I've tried adding the media by using 'add media', 'add media without path', and 'add all media from directory' - all produces a black screen.

I'm on MacOS using v. 7.13.9. Any suggestions as to what to do?
