It would appear that multiple corner banners cannot be defined at the same time. If they are, only the first corner banner will be respected.

Example: we have two banners, "Foo!" and "Bar soon". "Foo!" was created first and has "show banner" unchecked. "Bar soon" is added second and has "show banner" checked. However, "Bar soon" doesn't show up and no corner banner is displayed.
