This is actually one of the best parts. I created a species I called the Millennial. i found Arboro very useful. Unfortunately, my first attempt was so large that it crashed the server. The second attempt had the limbs not connect to each other.
I found it takes some experimentation to get the tree models right. I found it helpful to experiment in a flat world first. I then turn down the number of levels to two and set the number of leaves to zero so I can fiddle with the trunk shape. If I am happy with that, I add leaves and experiment with that. If you try to do the whole tree at once, the number of options is overwhelming.
Also, try reading the source paper that Arboro was built on to get a better idea what all the variables do.
