How to run the website locally (Docker)

docker run --rm -p 4000:4000 --volume="$PWD:/srv/jekyll" -it jekyll/jekyll:3 jekyll serve -w

Then load http://localhost:4000/watchman/

How to run the website locally (local ruby)

First time setup:

  • You'll need ruby 2 or higher (available by default on Mac)

Then:

sudo gem install bundler
cd watchman/website
sudo bundle install

After performing the setup

To build the docs and start a webserver to browse them, and auto-rebuild as you change content files:

jekyll serve -w -t

If you've already got a built version of the site, you can save some time by skipping the initial build. It will rebuild files when things change:

jekyll serve -w -t --skip-initial-build
