If I get it right, there are Telescope extensions that allow replacing the original Telescope's fuzzy finder with finders like fzf, fzy, and zf. I couldn't find any hints as to using Skim instead. Hope, this makes sense, and sorry if I missed something.

I'm not aware of anything like this

From what I can see, these telescope matchers are reimplementation of the matcher in fzf, fzy etc to work with telescope's api.
I think such a thing would be doable with Skim without too much effort, but atm I can't dedicate the time needed to make this work and maintain it.
You're very welcome to try though !
