Use MongoDB with Django, by adding just one line of code.
tl;dr: Invest in me, I will deliver.
Djongo started after I scoured the web in search of a connector for Django and MongoDB for a month. I only found work arounds. I searched Django developers to check if I was the only one with this problem. I was not alone. Past discussions on creating such a connector for Django and MongoDB had concluded with the remarks: "It is too complex, and next to impossible". I restarted the discussion thread, saying I know how to make it possible. I was met with skepticism, dissuasion, and quickly disposed away with.
On 6th March I sent an email to Mike from MongoDB Inc about Djongo. He replied with enthusiasm, saying he has been keenly following the project and enjoying the updates. After a few exchanges, I finally brought up the topic of sponsorship. Financial sponsorship is a must, for the long run sustainability of an open source project. Sadly, that was the last email I got from MongoDB.
I love Django, I love MongoDB.
Djongo has grown into more than a simple hobby project of an individual developer. To sustain this effort, I have decided to turn to you, my supporter. My goal is to make Djongo a production ready database connector capable of running on enterprise servers.
