I'm creating an ecosystem of libraries and tools to enable cross-platform app development with Swift.
It all started in 2020 when I set out on an ambitious journey to rewrite the Minecraft: Java Edition client from scratch in Swift with no prior knowledge of Swift or Metal. As my Minecraft client matured, I got more and more frustrated with being locked to Xcode and its git-unfriendly Apple-only project file format. So being who I am, I did something about it. Bam - Swift Bundler was born, a hacky prototype at the time, and now a viable way to write macOS apps without Xcode. After that, everything was fine, until someone suggested getting my Minecraft client working on Linux... is that a challenge I hear? Tldr; that required a UI library, and I wasn't happy with just any old UI library, so I made one myself: SwiftCrossUI - my most popular project to date. And the rest is history...
While I love working on my open-source projects, I juggle uni, work, and more. Every donation helps me to spend more time on open-source and to give my projects the love they need to become ready for use!
Each night I dream about a sky full of shiny cross-platform Swift applications, and together we can make it happen.
Main projects
- SwiftCrossUI: A cross-platform declarative UI framework inspired by SwiftUI
- Delta Client: A highly optimised Minecraft client, written from scratch in Swift.
- Swift Bundler: An xcodeproj-less tool for macOS app development with experimental iOS support, and Linux support in the pipeline
- Swift Macro Toolkit: An essential for any macro developer hoping to make robust macros without all the fuss
Other contributions
From time to time I contribute to various Swift projects that are used by hundreds or thousands of developers, including swift-format and FlyingFox.
