notebook created, progress bar advances, no error, no import on one notebook

i've had good luck with a number of notebooks, but i have one that won't import, but the program acts normal, stepping through the notes, advancing the progress bar, showing the filenames, etc.
do we have a log function or other way of seeing what might be happening?

seems like it's some state the program got itself into. suddenly every notebook i was trying to import did this.
the folder would be created, but it would be empty.
quitting the program and relaunching it seems to have fixed it.
i don't know if you want this open for further action, or not.
