Describe the bug

When opening the program, it opens with a white screen, the program can't be used and doesn't respond to any clicks, tried:

-Restarting the PC
-Reinstalling Creator Comapanion
-Uninstalling it with Revo Uninstaller and cleaning every trace and then re-installing
-Running as admin (It said "This app has been blocked by your system administrator"+ white screen)
-Installing Evergreen Bootstrapper (Error as Webview2 is already installed)
-Deleting the config.json and opening the program

Seems like other users have been having this problem since early 2024, curiously I remember that Creator Companion was working for me back then, I stopped using it for some months and now this problem is happening.

To Reproduce

  1. Open VRChat Creator Companion
  2. The program opens as a window with a white screen

Expected behavior

Open VRChat Creator Companion and see the main menu as usual.

This seems to be an issue with a recent Windows update, my girlfriend just had this exact issue start yesterday on windows 11 when it forced an update, I found this post in trying to fix the issue, and we JUST got it working, so i'm gonna tell you since it may be the same problem.

since you said it did this "-Installing Evergreen Bootstrapper (Error as Webview2 is already installed)"

We had to go into regedit (open by typing "regedit" into the search bar), and following this path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINELM->SOFTWARE->WOW6432Node->Microsoft->EdgeUpdate->Clients, and delete the "{F3017226-FE2A-4295-8BDF-00C3A9A7E4C5}|

After we deleted that F301 key, we tried reinstalling Webview2 and it actually did do a reinstall, and then creator companion opened correctly.

Through searching i've been told be REALLY careful in regedit, as deleting something you didn't mean to can cause permanent damage to your PC, and it also doesn't put the files into a trashbin like other files, so just be very careful to only delete that 1 file.
