"On December 12, 2024, Hyper Ice, Inc. (“Hyperice”) filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Massachusetts after discovering that the company was the victim of a recent cyberattack. In this notice, Hyperice explains that the incident resulted in an unauthorized party being able to access consumers’ sensitive information, which includes their names and Social Security numbers. Upon completing its investigation, Hyperice began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was affected by the recent data security incident.
The Hyperice data breach was only recently announced, and more information is expected in the near future. However, Hyperice’s filing with the Attorney General of Massachusetts provides some important information on what led up to the breach. According to this source, on June 25, 2024, Hyperice experienced a network disruption. In response, Hyperice secured its network and then began an investigation. Through this investigation, Hyperice confirmed that certain files containing confidential information may have been acquired without authorization."
