I created existing wallets from attached hardware device:-
Update wallet password:
To set the password, I am asked for the existing password - but it has not yet been set as far as I know.
When I enter a new password in the New Password field and the Confirm Password field, whatever I enter in the Existing Password field or leave blank, I receive the message "Invalid Password".
I do not know what I am doing wrong.

Good looking and helpful extension - however, safety is important.

You can just click forgot password and use restore wallet option to change password

forgot password will appear once you try invalid password

OK, having gone through it a couple of times - on my side, passwords have to be saved where I keep them retrievable, or they get lost, which isn't good if in the middle of a process like this.
However, there are three options.
From three options

1. Create Wallet
2. Restore Wallet
3. Connect Ledger
   Choose
   Create Wallet as the first step.
   This creates a secret recovery seed phrase.
   Take it from there.
   It is possible to create several wallets, a useful feature. These wallets are not connected to any hardware wallet. That is the third option, and the security depends entirely on that device. There is not associated with a password or recovery seed.

Ledger wallets are not protected with the password, since we are not storing any ledger keys there is nothing to encode
on our end, everything is managed by ledger device and all transactions/messages will require you to be confirmed on your device

None ledger wallet, generates private key from seed phrase, and it's different to the ledger device one
since this key is stored in your browser, it hast to be encrypted for the security reasons, in this case every time you want to unlock the wallet you are required to provide password in order to decrypt your keys.

When creating wallet, you are able to choose

1. if you want to create new seed phrase which will end up with new keys
2. restore keys from already existing seed phrase
3. connect ledger device
