Ornithology: login doesn't persist may relatd to not getting badges

Chrome and Firefox, and this refers to the first ledger page I have transcribed.
Be logged in on the ornithology ledger page, http://www.notesfromnature.org/#/archives/ornithological (see your name in the top-right corner)
Click on "Start transcribing" for a new ledger
Look at the top-right corner: your name has vanished
After completing an entire page, hit 'finish'. Look at your personal information for Notes from Nature; you can't see a count for ornithology ledgers.

I can confirm the same behavior on Firefox.
