Membrane Biofilm Reactor (MBFR) is a newly formed subteam for Fall 2022 after splitting from the UASB subteam. It seeks to research and test the use of a biofilm membrane reactor in treating effluent wastewater from the UASB reactor.

This semester, the team is looking to continue hydraulic testing and troubleshooting with a large reactor prototype, with the goal of increasing oxygen intake to optimize the treatment process and eventually implementing a fully functioning biofilm with enough capacity to handle UASB dumps.
