The reason to release a new one is that the behavior of
rockbox changed on SD-based targets: since internal storage
with SD is supported, rockbox loads everything from internal
but the old bootloader loads everything from microSD card.
To have a consistant behavior, the bootloader should also
load everything from internal storage when available.
