NIFI-2728 - Improve travis-ci build settings. This closes apache#985.

            Improvemens:

            * Adjusts Xmx value
            * run mvn in quiet mode to prevent issues scrolling build
              logs on travis-ci and appveyor
            * add $HOME/.m2 to travis cache
            * add $HOME/.npm to travis cache
            * split compilation (multi threaded) from checkstyle:check
              (single threaded) following @mcgilman comment (travis)
