Fix error where images were not printed in TeX mode.

Added the check in alias that lists the image as being accessible. (None accessible images are not printed.)

For debugging purposes changed the debug_messages()  to  warn()  so that the error messages are printed to the apache log.  The debug_messages are not currently printed anywhere for tex mode.
