Welcome to the GitHub organization for the IAU CPS SatHub!

Purpose

This space hosts projects supporting efforts in mitigating the effects of satellite constellations on astronomy and by provides tools, resources, and collaborative opportunities for the SatHub community. This includes developing software to monitor satellite impact, manage observations, and facilitate the sharing of best practices.

Key Projects

SatChecker

SatChecker is a satellite position prediction API that provide ephemeris information and field of view pass predictions, as well as providing access to satellite metadata and related information.

SCORE (Satellite Constellation Observation Repository)

SCORE is a centralized repository for organizing and sharing satellite brightness observations, designed to support scientific and public research.

Additional Projects

This organization also serves as a hub for projects affiliated with the SatHub community. These repositories are created and maintained by individuals or groups associated with SatHub, but they are not directly maintained by us.

Coding Guidelines

We follow a set of coding guidelines to maintain consistency and quality across projects. While not extensive, these guidelines outline best practices for contributing to repositories within this organization. Contributors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these standards.
