I am a passionate bioinformatics engineer dedicated to designing automated workflows and genomic data analytics. My expertise spans from software engineering to bioinformatics analysis, with a strong focus on leveraging virtualization and automation technologies to tackle complex issues in genomics and health.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege to contribute to a broad array of projects, including:
- Automated Workflow Design: Developing automated bioinformatics workflows using virtualization technologies like Docker and Singularity, and automation platforms like Nextflow.
- Bioinformatics Analysis: Processing NGS data from clinical samples to identify genetic variants associated with rare and hereditary diseases, using advanced tools like GATK4.
- Comparative Genomics and Phylogenomics: Research in the comparative genomics of protozoa, bacteria, and viruses, establishing a solid foundation in bioinformatics.
- Virtualization: Docker, Singularity
- Programming languages: Perl, Python, Bash, R.
- Workflow Automation: Nextflow, BASH
- Cloud Computing: AWS
- Genomic Analysis: FastQC, Trimmomatic,SAMtools,Picard Tools, GATK4, ANNOVAR, VEP, SnpEff, among others.
I am presently engaged in crafting technical recommendations for the architecture of a national genomic and health data platform and repository. This project aims to establish a robust infrastructure to support precision medicine in Brazil.
