Remote debugging a java application

java -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:server=y,transport=dt_socket,address=8000,suspend=y -jar application.jar

Run Spring Aplplication with an active profile

java -jar -Dspring.profiles.active=staging  target/demo-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar

The application will take configurations from application.properties file. All configurations in application-staging.properties will override any configuration from the default configuration file.

Generate Self-Signed SSL certificate

keytool -genkeypair -alias sample -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -storetype PKCS12 -keystore selfsigned.p12 -validity 3650

Use self-signed certificate for environments other than "dev"

create an application-staging.properties file under src/main/resources folder.

Add the following values into the application-staging.properties file

server.ssl.protocol=TLS
server.ssl.key-store=./selfsigned,p12
server.ssl.key-store-type=PKCS12
server.ssl.key-store-password=sample123
