<p align="center">
Automatic front-end output of Pods Templates. No PHP code required.
</p>

Instructions
============

* Naming

You will need to change the name of the plugin in a few simple steps:

* Rename the base plugin folder name and primary PHP file named 'pods-extend.php' to your plugin's name. Make sure the folder name matches the name of the PHP file (without .php on the end).

* Search for 'pods-extend' and replace with your desired plugin name in all lowercase with dashes between words (if desired).
<strong>This plugin has been incorpated into Pods 2.5.5 and is no longer needed. You can safely deactivate it. Your settings will be preserved.</strong>

* Search for 'Pods Starter Plugin' and replace with your plugin's proper name.
Supports custom post types, Pods extended posts and pages, as well as custom taxonomies.

* Search for 'Pods_Extend' and replace with your plugin's proper name with underscores instead of spaces between words.
Requires Pods 2.3.18 or later.

* Search for 'PODS_EXTEND' and replace with your plugin's proper name in all caps. This is for constants.
This plugin was created using [Pods Extend](https://github.com/pods-framework/pods-extend), the new Pods Plugin starter plugin, as part of [a series of tutorials on creating Pods Plugins](http://pods.io/tutorials/creating-pods-plugins/).

* Be sure to set the plugin header meta data. See [https://codex.wordpress.org/Writing_a_Plugin#Names.2C_Files.2C_and_Locations](https://codex.wordpress.org/Writing_a_Plugin#Names.2C_Files.2C_and_Locations).

* Usage

<em>Tutorials, like winter are coming.</em>

* Adding options to Pods Admin:

Check out the example filters in __construct(). Be sure to note the complete example that has example callbacks.

* Adding a new Pods field:
Instructions
============
For complete instructions see [http://pods.io/tutorials/creating-pods-plugins/using-pods-display/](http://pods.io/tutorials/creating-pods-plugins/using-pods-display/)

See the example class. Don't forget to include the file and initialize the class.
In the Pods editor, under the "Frontier Auto Display Options" tab, click the "Enable Automatic Pods Templates for this Pod?" option.

When Not To Use This Plugin
===========================
* If you are not comfortable with object-oriented PHP.
New fields will be revealed: "Single item view template" and "Archive view template" as well as fields to set the location for the template. In these fields enter the name of Pods Templates that you wish to use in each case and whether you want it to appear before, after or in place of the post content.

* When this plugin is overkill.
The "Single item view template" option sets the Pods Template used for individual post pages and the "Archive view template" option sets the Pods Template used for the list of posts in the custom post type. For taxonomies only the "Archive view template" option will be shown.

If you just need to add some code to help implement Pods in your site, and do not need what this plugin provides, you may be better served by [this plugin](https://gist.github.com/Shelob9/9979551). It simply includes a file for your custom code, if Pods is active.
NOTE: Archives for custom post types must be enabled under the "Advanced Options" tab using the option "Enable Archive Page". By default archives are not enabled.
