The Precipitation App provides users an interactive way to visualize a mapped forecast of the precipitation for the next 72 hours for any location across the Continental United States. The Precipitation Forecast Live Feeds data used by this application are updated hourly from the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD) produced by the National Weather Service.
-
Click on any county or watershed to see the forecast for that area. You can also sketch a custom area of interest if desired. The forecast for your area of interest can be viewed in terms of incremental precipitation or in terms of cumulative precipitation (accumulation). Both are reported in 6-hour intervals over next 72 hours.
-
Press the 'play' button on the left side of the graph to animate the forecast through time. The map will show the distribution of rainfall within your chosen area of interest, and how it changes over the next three days. A table on the right shows what percentage of your area of interest falls into each forecast zone.
- Fork and then clone the repo.
