Prerequisites

If you don't already have an Apache local environment with PHP and MySQL, use one of the following links:

Installation

After initializing a fresh instance of Laravel (and making all the necessary configurations), install the preset using one of the provided methods:

Via composer

  • Cd to your Laravel app
  • Type in your terminal: composer update
  • Duplicate .env.example to .env
  • Type in terminal: php artisan key:generate
  • Edit you db in .env
DB_CONNECTION=mysql
DB_HOST=127.0.0.1
DB_PORT=3306
DB_DATABASE=laravel
DB_USERNAME=root
DB_PASSWORD=
  • In your terminal run composer dump-autoload
  • Run php artisan migrate --seed to create basic users table
  • Run php artisan storage:link to create the storage symlink
